Assumptions are always dangerous. This is even more true when drafting hot after the first week of the NFL season.

The NFL Opening Sunday is one of the most intoxicating Sundays in the entire football calendar. After months of speculation and analysis of off-season moves, we finally got to see the teams on the field and have real results to talk about.

It’s also a dangerous time to start drawing conclusions. However, we live in a hot world, and sometimes we just can’t help ourselves.

Here’s a look at the hot some of it might take from week one, but we definitely need some time because the narrative can change by the end of week two.

The Cleveland Browns won their season opener for the first time since 2004 when they beat the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The most impressive aspect of it was that they did it with Jacoby Brissett in the quarterback.

That’s one game against the Browns and it’s 10 games to go as they wait for Deshaun Watson to return from an 11-game suspension. On Sunday, the team had enough points to slip off a 26-24 win on Kid York’s 58-yard field goal with eight seconds left.

That was despite Brisset completing just over half of his passes (18 of 34) for 147 yards and one touchdown.

Nick Chubb was the engine that made the crime go. Carry 22 carriers for 141 yards. However, the Panthers only had eight in the chest on 22.7 percent of his campaigns, per next generation stats. Karim Hunt saw a box loaded with 45.5 percent of his 11 loads.

In the end, the teams will load the crate, increase the pressure and have Brisette defeat them.

Brown’s defense deserves the bulk of the credit for this win. according to PFF, Miles Garrett did six pushups and two bags. Jadeveon Clowney had two pass deflections and a half sack.

Not everyone is going to throw a rookie left tackle to block Garrett. So Brown’s offense must continue to develop if they are to win.

It’s all too easy to look at the poor performance of the Green Bay Packers offense and draw conclusions about Davante Adams’ departure this season.

The Packers only put in seven points, and Rodgers didn’t even make a 200-yard pass. They definitely missed out on their gaming industry receiver. Packers receptors did not combine to match Adams Baseline In his first appearance in the Las Vegas Raiders, but it’s an exaggeration to say that crime would be lost without him.

For one, that’s forgetting what the Packers offense looked like in the first week of last year. A year ago today, the Packers only scored three points in losing the New Orleans Saints blast. Rodgers had 133 passing yards and two picks.

Then he went on to win the best player award.

The Packers have a few things to figure out, but it will always take some time. Christian Watson’s second-round pick was a critical drop on a possible landing. Rodgers took four bags.

These are all things that will improve as the smaller receivers get time to develop and the offensive line gets time to break down.

Rodgers, Matt LaFleur and the Packers are too good to be fouled over the course of the season.

The Indianapolis Colts came into the 2022 season as the favorites to win the South Asian title and are still the favorites. DraftKings Sportsbook.

After pegging the Houston Texans 20-20, the ponies betting time may not be the preferred time.

Texans face longer odds of winning the division and obviously don’t have much hype in 2022. But this result was a good reminder that more stranger things happen every week in the NFL than an indictment on the Colts.

Frank Reich beat Texas 517-299. They kept Texas at just 2.8 yards per carry and controlled the line of scrimmage.

There were a lot of costly mistakes for them to finish the day in the winning column. Matt Ryan had four failures on his debut for the Colts as he struggled to get a center-back swap throughout the match.

Jonathan Taylor had 161 yards off the ground. Michael Bateman Jr. went for over 100 yards in the pickup. The triple defense line of Kwity Paye, DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart had eight pressures and eight stopping points, each PFF.

The defense didn’t have Shaquille Leonard’s best player.

The foundation of this Colts team has not been shaken. They just have to clean up some of the mistakes to expect with the new midfielder.

There is no way around it. The Los Angeles Rams had a disaster in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills managed to beat the Rams in every aspect of the game, and Matthew Stafford was particularly bad. He gave the fans cause for concern by going 29 of 41 for 240 yards and one touchdown with three interceptions.

After a preparatory period marked by concerns about the Stafford facility, it’s easy to jump to the conclusion that there is a real problem brewing in Los Angeles.

There are certainly issues. The offensive line is the base line. according to PFFLine O has given up a 48 percent compression rate. It’s the seventh worst sign since 2016.

This is expected. The Rams were breaking in on a new left-wing intervention in Joseph Nottebaum, who has the unenviable job of filling Andrew Whitworth’s shoes.

Noteboom will get better. Head coach Sean McVeigh will figure out how to maximize what the Rams have in attack, and the defense won’t have to defend Josh Allen every week. The rams are far from finished.

It sure looked like the Philadelphia Eagles would have one of the five best offenses in the NFL. The Eagles won a penalty shootout 38-35 against the Detroit Lions, and it certainly looked like they would be able to move the ball however they wanted.

The match on the ground was dominant. Four different players had a quick touchdown, and they had 216 yards in 39 buggies. Through the air, AJ Brown was everything the team hopes to be with 10 grabs for 155 yards.

There are a few things to note, though, as they might throw a little water on the fire which would be the buzz around the Philadelphia attack.

The first is that Galen Hurts had some shortcomings as a bystander. according to next generation stats, his completion rate was higher than expected –9.4. His number for 2021 was -0.2. In essence, it wasn’t any more accurate than it was last year – and maybe worse.

It is also important to maintain this performance in the context of playing lions. Dan Campbell has done many things to get the franchise back on track, but there’s a reason why he picked Team #2 last year.

Black is over No. 29 on ESPN’s Defensive efficiency last season. They will be fortunate to raise their defense to a mid-level in 2022.

Perhaps this is true, but it is too early to make any statements.

Tre Lance’s debut as the undisputed primary quarterback on the San Francisco 49ers surely raised a lot of questions. The sophomore quarterback went to 13 of 28 for 164 yards as the 49ers attack put only 10 points in a loss to the Chicago Bears.

Inevitably, there will be those who want to re-attack Jimmy Garoppolo. His presence will create that possibility throughout the season.

But it wasn’t even time to have this conversation. The weather wasn’t great. It can be hard to keep scrolling while you’re playing in a swamp. The 49ers’ entire offense was out of sync, not just the quarterback. The team committed 12 penalties for 99 yards.

Lance’s ability to run may have made their attack more viable given the circumstances. He had 13 holders for 54 yards to lead the team in a hurry.

If Lance struggles in a similar fashion at home against the Seahawks next week, sound the alarms. For now, put this on the learning curve in a tricky situation.
