Highest rankings for 2022 QB fantasy football

Here’s a look at SportsLine’s top three fantasy football picks for 2022:

1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: Not since 1995-1997 quarterback Brett Favre took the lead in his Fantasy Points position for three years in a row, but Allen has a chance to do so in 2022. He has been the best Fantasy scorer the past two seasons, and he has seen 2021 joining Cam Newton as the only player in NFL history with at least 4,000 passing yards and 700 yards passing.

2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: Because defenses played with Kansas City differently last year, the Chiefs’ offensive changed, but Mahomes’ outstanding production remained. He ranked fourth in yards (4,839), fourth in TDs (37), and ran for 381 yards. Kansas City offense will change again this year after Tyrick Hill’s departure, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a change for the worse. Over his career, Mahomes has had better gaming stats without a hill than games with him.

3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: Due to illness and injury, Jackson played only 11 full games last year, but managed to set an NFL record with seven games for 200 yards and 50 yards. He was on track for a 4,600-yard pass, a 1,200-yard dash season before he was sidelined, and he’s now in good health after a long off-season. The Ravens plan to return to more ground attacks, so Jackson’s aerial numbers may drop, but he’s still the league’s biggest threat on the ground. See more of the best QBs here.

Highest Fantasy Football Rankings 2022 RB

Here’s a look at SportsLine’s top three fantasy football picks for 2022:

1. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts: With Henry on the shelf for half of the 2021 season, Taylor took home the sprint title and the Fantasy RB1 award over the course of the season. He’s seen leaps and bounds in nearly every key stat in his already impressive 2020 rookie season. At 23, he’s scratching the surface and playing behind one of the NFL’s best offensive lines. Reaching the 2,000-yard dash mark isn’t out of the question in 2022.

2. Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers: What it lacks in size (5 feet – 10, 200 pounds), Ekeler makes up for in versatility. He tied with Nagy Harris as the most-targeted in the NFL in 2021 with a score of 94. This volume is critical in the PPR tournaments in particular. He’s a capable traditional runner, too, though, as he went for 911 fast yards and 12 quick touchdowns last season.

3. Derek Henry, Tennessee Titans: The impulsive 2020 king and 2,000-yard man was on his way to another monster campaign in 2021 before a toe injury knocked him out of the second half of the regular season. It’s big and tough enough to get the job done in a short space, but it’s erroneously labeled just as powerful. His top speed is among the league’s highest in the open field, so he’s threatening to take a distance out of nowhere, giving Fantasy a climb every week. See more of the best regional offices here.

Highest Fantasy Football Rankings for 2022 WR

Here’s a look at SportsLine’s top three fantasy football picks for 2022:

1. Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams: With last season looming, little managed to separate Kupp from Robert Woods in the WR fantasy football rating pre-season, and Kupp went on to have the second most prolific season by a recipient in NFL history. Even if he’s far below that level of production this season, he’s still likely to end up like Fantasy’s top receiver again. With the Super Bowl title in defence, Kupp will once again be the most important part of the Rams’ offensive.

2. Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings: Kevin O’Connell left his position as Rams offensive coordinator to take over as head coach at Minnesota. Jefferson seems like a generational talent at the wide receiver, and if O’Connell can use it the same way he used Kupp last season, it could be Jefferson’s turn to have a historic season of his own. Jefferson had the third most goals among all receivers last season, but he’s still in some position to ramp up appearances this year.

3. Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals: Few have the great playing ability that Chase has, he has been tied with Deebo Samuel for most receptions for at least 50 yards (six), and has had 22 hits at 20 yards at least. Chase was far and away the wide receiver for the beginner last season and finished with more than 400 yards than the next man, Kyle Bates. Chase finished third after the catch (651) among all receivers last season and should have plenty of room to do it again with several playmakers in the Cincinnati attack.
